Part of the Our Shared Path Relationship Clinic
You can work on relationships without attending as a couple
Maybe you keep ending up in relationships that feel familiar in painful ways. You struggle to speak up, pull away when someone gets close, give more than you can sustain, or find yourself unsure of your own needs. You may be dating, partnered, single, or deciding what comes next.
Individual relationship therapy offers space to understand your experience and work on the patterns you can influence. You do not need a partner's participation to begin.
Understand the pattern and practice something different
At Our Shared Path Counseling in King of Prussia, relationship-focused individual therapy can help you explore:
- Recurring patterns in dating, partnerships, and other close relationships
- Boundaries, people-pleasing, and difficulty expressing needs
- Trust, vulnerability, emotional distance, and fear of rejection
- Conflict, communication, and reactions that feel hard to change
- Relationship decisions, readiness, and expectations for the future
- The influence of family history, culture, faith, and community
Emotions are part of this work. We help you notice what you feel, understand what those feelings may be communicating, and develop ways to respond that fit your values. That can include expressing needs more clearly, tolerating difficult conversations, or setting a boundary without abandoning the relationship with yourself.
Make room for your whole experience
Our approach is culturally responsive, faith-aware, and practical. We explore the context of your relationships without making assumptions about the kind of relationship, family, or life you should want.
Individual work can help you clarify your own choices and responses. It cannot make another person change, and your therapist will work with you to identify goals that are within your influence.
A place to begin
If a relationship has ended, visit divorce and breakup recovery. If broader concerns such as stress, trauma, anxiety, or life transitions are central, explore individual therapy.
