Part of the Our Shared Path Relationship Clinic
A strong foundation for your marriage
Marriage Foundations is our structured premarital counseling program for couples who are engaged or dating with marriage in mind. For $600 per couple, the package includes four sessions of up to 90 minutes each, relationship questionnaires, and practical conversations that help you prepare for married life.
You do not need to be in conflict to benefit. This is time to understand each other more deeply, talk through expectations, and practice skills you can keep using after the wedding. Both partners participate together, with guidance from a licensed counselor.
What Marriage Foundations includes
- Relationship questionnaires: Identify strengths, differences, expectations, and topics that deserve attention together.
- Communication skills: Practice listening, expressing needs clearly, and discussing difficult subjects without immediately becoming defensive.
- Conflict resolution: Notice recurring patterns, manage disagreements, and practice repair and reconnection.
- Financial discussions: Talk about spending, saving, debt, responsibilities, and how you will make money decisions as a couple.
- Family dynamics: Explore family influences, in-laws, boundaries, cultural expectations, and blending families when relevant.
- Marriage preparation planning: Clarify shared priorities around roles, household responsibilities, intimacy, children, faith, and future goals. Identify practical next steps for the marriage you want to build.
The four-session structure gives your conversations direction while leaving room for the concerns and strengths you bring as a couple.
Premarital counseling in King of Prussia and for Philadelphia couples
Our Shared Path Counseling & Consulting offers premarital counseling at our King of Prussia office and virtual sessions for couples located in Pennsylvania. If you are looking for premarital counseling in Philadelphia, you can meet with us through Pennsylvania telehealth or at our King of Prussia location.
Our approach combines professional expertise with respect for your culture, identities, family experiences, and everyday realities. Couples of all backgrounds are welcome, including interfaith couples and couples who do not identify with a faith tradition.
Faith-sensitive marriage preparation
For couples seeking Muslim premarital counseling, we make room for faith, family expectations, religious practice, and the meaning of marriage in your lives. We do not assume that partners share the same beliefs or experiences. Faith can be included as much or as little as you want, and we do not prescribe one model of marriage for everyone.
